There is a bidding procedure that is carried out by the Federation committee of twenty-two members who vote, vet and determine which country to host the world cup tournament. Russia won the hosting rights to host the 2018 world cup tournament that is scheduled to be held on 14th June to June 15th which will be the 21st competition of the time. This will be the first world cup competition to be held in eastern Europe.

All the thirty two national teams will be involved, which includes the qualifying Thirty one teams and the host who qualify automatically. The competition will involve the thirty two teams including the qualifying thirty one and the automatic qualifier which is the host country team. Matches scheduled to be played at different venues set by FIFA will sum up to sixty four and the final be played in Moscow.

Germany are the current holders of the title and will be tasked to defend the title if they qualify. during the tournament the host benefit a lot.
